Students lose credit in a semester course if they miss 10 or more classes.  Students lose credit in a year course if they miss 19 or more classes.  Students lose credit in a lab science class (Earth Science, Living Environment, Chemistry or Physics) if they miss 28 or more classes, since it's a double period every other day. Everything counts for absences, such as out sick with a doctor's note.  Extenuating circumstances for such things as surgery or mono will be addressed on an individual basis.  Contact the HS Principal for this.  School related activities such as going on a field trip with a different teacher or a NCCS team sporting  event do not count because the students are in school activities.  College visits must be set up in advance with the School Counselor and a note from the Admissions Office of the college stating that the student was there on a particular date for an interview and/or tour must be turned in immediately after the date.
